IMG-20170309-WA0012Valley Fever will be entering our 10th winter this year, operating on the same principles that have served us well since 2009. We are passionate and 100% dedicated to the guest experience and we like to get the small things right with good listening and solid planning, backed up of course by tasty food.

Our hosts, drivers and managers are the key to this and invaluable to our business, so we seek to recruit experienced, confident and outgoing people, those who value a two way conversation, are dedicated to customer service, and have preferably completed a season already.

We look after them well too, with a high standard of seasonal accommodation, a full area MBU lift pass, travel, food and a competitive wage.

If our roles interest you then it’s your attitude that is the most important thing to us. We can teach you most things you’ll need to know but we can’t teach your personality or desire to do what it takes to get the job done.

We want you to get the most out of your season, so keen skiers or boarders are preferred, and we pride ourselves in helping you achieve your winter goals.

In advance of December we are recruiting into the following positions and still have some roles still to fill:

Individual Chalet Host – running a chalet up to 8 guests with support

Chalet Couple (no driving) – running a chalet up to 14 guests with support

Chalet Couple (with driving) – running a chalet up to 10 guests with support, and one person will complete slope shuttles in resort.

Driver & Chalet Host – a combined job, working closely with the chalets hosts at breakfast and evening meal plus in addition you’ll complete slope shuttles, Geneva Airport Transfers, hot tub maintenance and snow clearing.

Resort Manager – As the line manager to the immediate team and a key contact with guests, this role ensures everything runs smoothly and requires a flexible problem solving attitude and great people skills.

Working closely with us, but taking full ownership of our chalets we like to give our team the support & training required but we’ll also give you the freedom to add your personality to Valley Fever.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience in winter ski roles or similar
  • A positive attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good problem solver
  • A passion for the mountains
  • A passion for customer service and patience to deal with guests
  • A UK National Insurance number
  • Knowledge of French is a bonus

It is hard work, so you’ll need to be very flexible and you never quite know what’s around the corner – sometimes a blocked toilet but sometimes a bluebird powder day! You’ll be likely to meet friends that last a lifetime and memories to share along the way.

If you’d like to join us please email your covering letter and CV to gary@valleyfever.co.uk

Valley Fever are recruiting!

As the landscape turns autumnal in Chamonix, the temperatures are dropping and the first patches of snow have appeared on the high mountains. The lifts close this weekend (25th Sept), the bikes are in hibernation and the excitement for winter is starting to build.

We have several vacancies to fill before the lifts re-open, including individual chalet hosts, chalet couples, and Driver & Chalet Cover. All positions are open to individuals, friends, or couples who could run a chalet together or fill two of the individual roles..

Working a season is tough, but a lot of fun. You need to be very flexible and you never quite know what’s around the corner, sometimes a super exciting experience and other times something that’s a pain. Working with us we expect you to experience both, although we hope way more of the fun stuff!

We look for experienced people (preferably having completed a season already) – those with great people skills, an eye for detail, a passion for customer service, and those who take ownership, get stuck in and get the job done. Working closely with us, but taking full ownership of the chalets we’ll give you the support & training you need but we’ll also give you the freedom to add your personality to Valley Fever.

Our company is all about getting the little things right, and we believe preparation and proactively is key. If we stay on the ball our guests have fun, you do the job well and we get to enjoy the mountain more!

If you think our jobs are for you, or you’d like to know more, then please get in touch! Drop Gary an email and he’ll look forward to chatting with you.

(Updated 29th Sept 2015)
